How To Activate Your Service After Purchasing A NET10 Plan

You've already purchased a NET10 Wireless plan. Now, learn how to activate your service.

So you've finally done it. You've cut ties with your contract carrier, and you're ready to experience wireless freedom with NET10 Wireless. If you've gotten this far, you probably have a phone in your possession – likely the latest NET10 phone or a device you're bringing with you – as well as a NET10 service plan. However, in order to start receiving nationwide coverage on one of America's largest and most dependable 4G LTE† networks, you’re going to need a NET10 SIM card.

If you purchased a phone right from us, you can find the SIM card with your phone. If you're planning to keep your current device, no worries. You'll just need to purchase a SIM card prior to activation. Here’s how it's done.

Purchase your SIM

You've already got a phone you love. Now, you'll need to see if it's compatible with NET10. To bring your own phone, it'll need to be compatible with T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, or Sprint. An unlocked GSM phone should work, too. But before you pick up a Keep Your Own Phone SIM Kit, check to make sure your phone will work on NET10. We've made it easy with our online compatibility checker. In some cases, you may not even need a SIM. That just means your phone is not LTE compatible.

Install your SIM

If you're keeping your own phone, you'll need to remove your current SIM card before installing the new one. The location of the SIM varies by model. iPhone devices have a small tray along the side of the phone. Use a paper clip or other small tool to release it. Most other devices, including Android phones, tuck their SIM card slot next to or behind the battery. To access the SIM, just remove the back panel.

When you put the new SIM card in, make sure that the notched end goes in first and that the gold contacts face down. Once it's in place, it's time to move onto the last step.

Activate your SIM

Your SIM is now installed properly in your phone, and you have a NET10 service plan. Ready for the final step? There are two ways to activate your service.
